We're Going on a Trip!

We have decided on our anniversary trip location after Ian made another call to Airtran last Friday night to see what might have opened up around the time of our anniversary. We had a few choices, but the flights to New Orleans were right around the time we wanted. Not to mention that both of us have never been there and it seems like such a fun place!

In other news, does anyone else get super anxious about asking for time off from work? I absolutely hate it! I think I am just not yet used to the fact that I am a working woman and am allowed to take a week off (assuming I have saved up my vacation days, of course) to go on a nice trip. Of course, my bosses are very cool and not everyone is that lucky, I guess. Anyway, having the official approval to take time off sure puts my mind at ease and makes me so excited to start planning!

SO, blogging friends, I'm gonna need your help again! Who has been to New Orleans? Who knows where to stay, what to do, and what to see that won't break our bank?

  1. What a great anniversary trip! I know a lot of people also get nervous about asking for time off, so you're not alone. But, you've definitely earned it, so I'm glad your boss is so great about it!

We went to New Orleans about three years ago, and it was wonderful! One thing I recommend - bring nice clothes and make sure Ian brings a jacket! There were two restaurants (Commander's Palace and Brennan's) that we really wanted to try, but couldn't get into because we didn't have appropriate clothes. That's alright - we'll definitely be back!

  2. As a teacher, I get very scared about asking for time off and don't do it unless it's for my best friend's wedding. Otherwise, I save my travel for summer and breaks! Can't wait to hear about your adventures! I've never been to New Orleans!

  3. Sounds like a fun trip...i wish i could help you. I am glad i no longer need to beg for time off..maybe just from my hubby...haha..not a big problem i guess. Have a fun time and happy anniversary!

  4. Sounds like a fun trip! I've never been to New Orleans, but I'm sure there's tons to do there. I get anxious about taking time off too, but I don't get paid for vacation so they can't really stop me, ha.

  5. Oh my gosh just got back two weeks ago from a trip to NOLA!

love it, its an amazing city!! Whats your budget? I have stayed at prytania park hotel which is cheap during the off season and really nice, I also just rented an amazing condo I would highly suggest it!! we stayed http://www.vrbo.com/327399 I would highly recommend that place, it was beautiful and the man who rented it out was sooo nice!!

Let me know if you want more suggestions!! You will have so much fun!

  6. Woohoo, New Orleans is so much fun. I gotta write you a list of things to do/go. What's your email?

  7. I hate asking off for work too! I always try to minimize the time off by saying "oh well, I'll be back in town at 2pm on Thursday so I can work that night!" which makes me exhausted and grumpy the whole trip.

New Orleans is a blast! It'll be a great trip to take for your anniversary!
